The most epic JKR interview EVER - Basically, she's just answering a lot of questions. It makes me happy inside. I found myself cracking up and nearing tears - haha!
Emily: What ever happened to Aberforth?
J.K. Rowling: He is still there, at the Hog's Head, playing with his goats.
OMG. Why does that crack me up so much? Just the bluntness of the answer, I s'pose. XDDD
Fomy: What did you feel when you finally wrote the kiss, awaited so much by the fans, of Ron and Hermione?
J.K. Rowling: I loved writing it, and I loved the fact that Hermione took the initiative! Ron had finally got SPEW and earned himself a snog!
-giggles- So much cute.
Lechicaneuronline: Do you think Snape is a hero?
J.K. Rowling: Yes, I do; though a very flawed hero. An anti-hero, perhaps. He is not a particularly likeable man in many ways. He remains rather cruel, a bully, riddled with bitterness and insecurity - and yet he loved, and showed loyalty to that love and, ultimately, laid down his life because of it. That's pretty heroic!
This is one of those questions I started blubbering over. It's getting quite ridiculous just how much I'm falling in love with this character.
Jaclyn: Did Lily ever have feelings back for Snape?
J.K. Rowling: Yes. She might even have grown to love him romantically (she certainly loved him as a friend) if he had not loved Dark Magic so much, and been drawn to such loathsome people and acts.
I think this is an extremely important question - well, for me, at least. James and Lily may be my OTP but I'm warming up really fast to the idea of Sev and Lily in a relationship. I wouldn't ever want them to defy canon - James and Lily belong together, simple as that. But god, they're cute. I am in love with the friendship they have and I'm open to the idea of what could have been. But again, James and Lily are the most perfect thing in the world so my heart is set on them. I think it's all just a lovely dynamic.
Nithya: Lily detested Mulciber and Avery. If Snape really loved her, why didn't he sacrifice their company for her sake?
J.K. Rowling: Well, that is Snape's tragedy. Given his time over again he would not have become a Death Eater, but like many insecure, vulnerable people (like Wormtail) he craved membership of something big and powerful, something impressive. He wanted Lily and he wanted Mulciber too. He never really understood Lily's aversion; he was so blinded by his attraction to the dark side he thought she would find him impressive if he became a real Death Eater.
Oh, Sev. ILU. So much.
Courtney: What child did Harry give the Marauders Map to, if any?
J.K. Rowling: I've got a feeling he didn't give it to any of them, but that James sneaked it out of his father's desk one day.
I admit I'm not the biggest fan of the epilogue, but the character of James the second really made me happy inside. He is so much like his grandfather.
Rachel Nell: I would like to know how come no one seemed to know that Lily and Snape were friends in school. They were obviously meeting for chats, etc. Didn't James know their past?
J.K. Rowling: Yes, it was known that they were friendly and then stopped being friends. Nothing more than that would be widely known. James always suspected Snape harboured deeper feelings for Lily, which was a factor in James' behaviour to Snape.
Oh, James. Didn't think I'd leave my undying love for him out in the cold, did you? He's such a prat. But a lovely one at that. -squishes- If I could marry/spend a day with/do something with one fictional character it would be him in a heartbeat, bar none.
Lulu: Do you think Dumbledore was a little more fond of Ron than either Ron or Harry believed?
J.K. Rowling: Yes, I do. Through Harry's account of Ron, and from reports of the professors who taught Ron, Dumbledore understood Ron better than Ron ever knew, and liked him, too.
Awwwwww.
Chely: James' Patronus is a stag and Lily's a doe. Is that a coincidence?
J.K. Rowling: No, the Patronus often mutates to take the image of the love of one's life (because they so often become the 'happy thought' that generates a Patronus).
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. IT'S CANON, BITCHES. -snuggles her OTP-
Camille: Dear Mrs. Rowling, while I'm here I want to thank you for making me laugh and cry (a lot! Most of all for Sirius!).
J.K. Rowling: Thank you very much, Camille, and I'm sorry about Sirius. That man's got a lot of fans. Mostly female, I might add.
There's no question but it's about Sirius. Which is why it's included. How could that man not have a lot of fans? HE'S FREAKING SIRIUS BLACK. The second he appeared, every young girl swore off real life men for him.
Isabel: Did Bellatrix ever love her husband, or did she have love only for voldemort?
J.K. Rowling: She took a pureblood husband, because that was what was expected of her, but her true love was always Voldemort.
D: I LOVE YOU, RODOLPHUS. UR MAH FAVORIT DEATH EATER. Just so everyone knows.
If you haven't noticed by now, I'm becoming insanely obsessed again. I've missed this fandom. My love has never wavered, it's just been pushed back slightly by other fandoms. I can't believe I let it go unnoticed for so long. ILU HARRY POTTER.
Just so you don't think I'm completely lost, information about the Who Christmas Special! With a lovely shot of David Morrissey. x33
OH! I got a new camera! Something like this but not nearly as expensive (still Canon, though). I think mine's a 3.0 or something. My old camera's lens got shot somehow and it was more expensive to fix it than buy a new one - so that's what I did! Didn't get a fancy one or anything (I'll be waiting for that till I'm older and travelling more) but the colours are gorgeous which is a definite plus.
Catch you later, calculators.
PS: How is it 3 in the afternoon already?
